Mr. Phan Trong Dat has nearly fifteen years of practical experience in the field of commercial arbitration and commercial mediation and currently holds the position of Acting Director of the Vietnam Mediation Centre. He has been working with hundreds of arbitral tribunals at VIAC and continues to hone his practical knowledge of commercial arbitration and commercial mediation.
Mr. Dat is also a highly qualified academic and regularly delivers presentations and lectures (as visiting lecturer) on arbitration procedures and dispute resolution skills at conferences and training courses conducted by law universities, Vietnam Bar Association, American Chamber of Commerce, Vietnam Banker Association, VCCI, etc.
Wee Meng is the CEO of SIMC.
He is an experienced lawyer of more than 30 years, working out of Beijing, Hong Kong, Sydney and Singapore. Prior to joining SIMC, he served as General Counsel of IBM Greater China and Nortel Networks Asia Pacific for about 20 years.
Wee Meng has advised senior leadership of MNCs as lead counsel on legal and regulatory issues arising out of doing business in Greater China, India, Japan, Korea, ASEAN, Australia and New Zealand. As an active board member of US-China JVs, he has managed a wide range of emerging market risks with leading international best practices.
Leveraging his deep regional experience, Wee Meng is currently leading SIMC to promote mediation to resolve complex, commercial cross-border disputes in the Asia Pacific region. He has trained Judges, Senior Lawyers and Businesses across Asia in international mediation trainings and workshops.
Wee Meng is an accredited mediator of the Singapore International Mediation Institute. He graduated with a law degree from the National University of Singapore and holds a Master of Laws from the University of Hong Kong. He is called to the Singapore Bar and Hong Kong’s Roll of Solicitors.

George Lim is Chairman of the Singapore International Mediation Centre. He is a Senior Counsel, and was President of the Law Society of Singapore between 1998-1999. He has mediated over 800 disputes.
George is the co-editor of Mediation in Singapore: A Practical Guide. He was Singapore’s mediation consultant to UNCITRAL Working Group II, which led to the adoption of the Singapore Convention on Mediation.
In October 2019, he was appointed to the Roster of Panel Chairs of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) on Dispute Settlement.
In 2021, George was named by The International Who’s Who of Commercial Mediation as a global thought leader in mediation.
Mr. Nam is a top-tier dual-qualified advocate in both Vietnamese and English jurisdictions. He is also a practicing arbitration counsel, mediator, and arbitrator. After founding EPLegal in 2009, he became Deputy Director of the Vietnam Mediation Centre (the first mediation institution in Vietnam) and co-founded VIArb (the first alternative dispute resolution training institute in Vietnam) in 2020. He has 20 years of experience in practicing and providing legal services in energy projects, EPC/EPIC contracts, and financing projects. Mr. Nam also engaged in high-valued cases at mediation, arbitration, and at-court litigation. For years, he has been continuously nominated as a top lawyer on reputable global legal rankings, including Chambers and Partners, Who's Who Legal (Arbitration), The Legal 500, and Asialaw Profiles.
